Sometime between Buster Poindexter and the reunited New York Dolls, David Johansen used to play the blues at a club in the Village called the Bottom Line, which hosted just about every one of David Jo’s acts over the years. Sadly, the Bottom Line closed down shortly after this 30th anniversary show.

There’s just something about getting a haircut. Filmed in the West Village, music by Mercury Rev.

The old South St. Seaport at dawn. The fishmongers used to sell their catch every morning to the local restaurant owners, mostly from Chinatown. Filmed back in the summer of ‘96 on an old 16mm arriflex on b/w reversal. Music by the Ventures. (One day I’ll get this transferred properly.)
